Night's Child is the 15th book in the Sweep series. It takes place about 20 years after the end of Full Circle, and centers around Morgan's daughter, Moira Byrne. Unlike the previous installments of Sweep, it is written in third person.

Publication HistoryEdit

Night's Child was first published on August 25, 2003. It was orginally published as a "Super Special" in response to an online fan petition for the series to continue after it was cancelled. It is labelled "Book 15" in the "Wicca" versions (UK and Australia), though not in the first edition "Sweep" versions (US) where it was known as a Super Special. However, when the series was re-released in the US in 2007, it was rebranded as book 15.

Morgan is now thirty-seven years old and her daughter Moira is fifteen. Hunter Niall had died in a storm at sea sixteen years earlier(which was a sad tradgedy to her).and Morgan married her husband, Colm Byrne , in April of the same year. Colm was later killed in a car crash whilst on a business trip to London. Morgan has otherwise lived in peace working as a healer for the New Charter, and preparing to become the High Priestess of the reformed coven of Belwicket.

Upon the actions of another coven, Ealltuinn, Morgan begins to realise that there are dark forces once again being built against her, and her daughter Moira discovers the details of her mother's past which have long been hidden. As Morgan discovers that Hunter is still alive, she sets out to find him with Moira, who during the book finds out that she is not the daughter of Colm Byrne as she thought she was but instead Hunter's child.
